KX-7333r MoBo
« on: August 26, 2002, 06:26:33 PM »
I just bought an ABit KX7-333r MoBo and it works great with one exception, the USB ports aren't working.

The mobo has 2 internal "on board" and 2 on the front panel of the box. But none work, I DDL'ed a USB utility of the internet and it says my mother board supports USB, USB is working but the driver is NOT working. Nothing works when i plug stuff into any port ( althou my optic mouse does light up) so the port is getting something.

Bios shows all 4 ports are enabled.
I believe the Mobo uses 4 in 1 drivers ( same as Asus) I even dl'ed newer drivers and still nothing.

Oh, it's an AMD 1900 chip.
OS Win98se
512 DDr ram
gforce4 64 meg 460

any ideas?
Short of Flashing the Bios? ( which is my last resort)
I've "reset" the bios to default ( switching jumpers for 3 seconds with power off) and reset the bios. But didn't flash it.

USB root hubs shows up in system twice ( once for each set)
I disabled the second set and it showed once in system.
So i enabled them both and it showes twice, so windows is picking it up.
Nothing is conflicting in system resourses.

Thanx in advance.

nutz , if your KT 333 mb have NEC  USB 2.0 that just normal , the 2.0 is high speed usb and any slow things like mice, mouse ,keyb are not recomandet to switch on them, for the drivers, if the chip set is VIA you will find drivers on webpage and  even without this drivers  WIN XP  on UPDATE server identify and download automaticly drivers

I downloaded the latest 4 in 1 drivers, and i have nothing on the USB. I wanted to hook up my scanner which is USB and it can't find it, so i double  checked with a USB mouse and it couldn't find that also. So i found a USB utility checker on the web and it's telling me USB is available on my MoBO, my USB is enabled, but it also is telling me the drivers are not working. So i uninstalled the drivers and reinstalkled , but still no USB. When i do plug in my Logotec lazer USB mouse the light goes on ( on mouse) but it doesn't work.

OS is Win98SE.
