Look for artwork by Kraz, he used to play AH.  He's my cousin and squad member.  He does cartoons and also is the official photographer of the Reno Air Races (not sure which kind is there now, but my aunt mentioned that his work was on display there).

From a story that Stick of AW and KOTH fame wrote of his meeting with General Yeager.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As I posted earlier, I was going to meet Chuck Yeager today.  The following is our discussion while he signed a picture of himself, the autobiography "Yeager' that I brought with me, and my 327th hat:

STICK:  Its an honor to meet you sir.  I want to thank you for everything you've contributed to this country, during the war and after.  I've read your autobiography, and think you are a truly astonishing man.

CY:  Thank you son.

STICK:  I had the pleasure of meeting Bud this past July.

CY:  Bud?  You mean Andy?

STICK:  Yes.

CY:  I never could understand why people call him Bud.

STICK:

*Short pause with silence*

STICK:  Sir, are you familiar with Air Warriors?

CY:  Yes I am.

STICK:  As you know, we (AWers) admire everything you and Andy (notice how I say "Andy" this time
CY:  That's just a game right?  Play?

STICK:  Yes it is.  But since we had the pleasure of having Andy, Robert Shaw, and others join us this past July, I know everyone would love to see you too.

CY:  We fought in *Real* War, not play.

STICK:

STICK:  Well if you wont come to Seattle to honor us with your presence ...
Why dont you bite me right here!
CY:
STICK:  You eat pieces of toejam for breakfast?

CY:

The first part is true the second a fabrication.;}:}

Discussion Part 1 was all true.  Discussion Part 2 was a total fabrication and was only meant as a joke (I hope it was received that way)

I found Chuck Yeager to be a great conversationalist.  Although he was short and to the point, he made his points *very* clear.  It was an honor to meet and have these few moments with him today.

Regarding AW, I dont believe he thinks much of it nor our participation in it.  At least he doesn't see how he fits into what we do and why he would want to associate himself with us.
I hope you all enjoy it.

Part 2 of Silat's tale is pretty damn close to the truth:

Warbirds Over Wanaka (Think it was '98)

Live TV Reporter (very young): "And how did it feel to fight in a War?"

CY: "Shut up Sonny"

Quick cut to Studio with grinning ape Anchor wetting his pants.

STICK:

Could have warned ya about that, Chuck might have a pretty impressive history, but it pales in comparison to his humility. (sarcastic tone)

A good friend of mine knows Yeager and Bud Anderson. My friend rarely has met someone he didnt like, and less anyone that didnt like him, but when asked what he thinks of Chuck Yeager, his answer is always "I really like Bud Anderson".

That tells me alot.
