I don't know about the sim - never played it - but they seem to have a pretty cool convention lined up. Pensacola is a great place to be if you're a military history fan. Even if you don't like the sim, you can tour the forts after you've blown a day at the Nat'l Museum of Naval Aviation and another day surfing the shore break. Pick up a t-shirt at Innerlight Surf Shop on your way in. There's a great seafood place there on your way back from the fort on the barrier island (can't recall the name) and Jubilee's has pretty good food too, plus some good shopping for the wife.

Got to meet Mr. Goebel at the WB 98 con. Great man and very nice. I unfortunately missed his speech at the con and told him so right when it ended. I was purchasing his book and he asked me for my home address while he signed it. About a week later I got a big nilla envelope in the mail from him. It was an addition to the book about finding the friend of one of the guys he shot down. I guess part of his speech had been about that, but I'm not sure. Real nice guy though.
