ATTN: Friday TOD Frame 3 CMs ('for the record')...
« on: September 06, 2002, 11:53:37 PM »
...I don't know how it affects scoring for the frame, or if it matters:

But during my second sortie (i.e. after rearming once) I 'lost UDP switching to TCP' or whatever.

I tried to land as fast as possible, but no such luck - I disconnected.

I'm pretty sure if you 'disconnect with damage' you are tracked as a kill. But for the record, I was landing to rearm at A26, and my Fw 190A-5 had taken 4 .303 MG 'pings' and 2 .50 MG 'pings' from a B-17s guns.

There was no 'damage' (i.e. damaged or destroyed components) on my aircraft. If possible/SOP (fairly new to AH TODs) don't consider my aircraft destroyed for frame 3.

3./JG 2 had no losses but on the mass disco as well we had killed every con we saw then were rtb to rearm when the disco came. Some may have been pinged 1 once or twice.

3./JG 2
Wulfie
Scot
Drunky
Lazerus
Tin
Duckettt
Bradys5
Leitwolf
Heinkel
Wotan

We upped at a10 in 190a5s. We carried 1 250kg bomb. Our target was v47. Wulfie carried ext tanks (dt).

Wulfie upped at a12 and went straight at a12 to catch the allioes upping. We grabbed ne to 10k and wulfie engage a bunch of spitfires as we grabbed. Wulfie killed 1 or 2 and kept umm lo. We dropped v47 and left it a smoking whole and regrabbed nof v47 before turning east to sweep over 12.

We spotted the lo spits and danced for a bit making sure they didnt follow us back across the channel. Tin Scot and 1 stayed high to cover the rearm at a10. Scot orbited 12 and watched the spits while tin and I orbited a10. Once our main group rearmed the were vectored back to 12 and engaged the spits.

Tin and I rearmed and trailed in. We hoped the spits would be engaged by our other a5s. They were. I swooped down and shot off the left wing of a spitfire and damaged a wingtip in a collision with the wreckage. I rtbd and landed safely while the rest of 3./JG 2 engaged the spits. We killed a few until 3 were left.

Heinkel took over and ordered the guys to rtb. They all did but tin who tracked the spits back to a12. He vectored the squad in and we killed the rest.

We were then rtb to reup to hit v49 when the disco came.

3./JG2
6-8 kills

No losses at all

3 damaged ac

I damged my wingtip rtbd safe
leitwolf damaged wingtip rtbd safe
Scot damaged gear rtb safe

47 was a smoking heap

Was great fun this frame. I kept my guys on a leash this frame. Last frame I just went with the flow instead of following my judgement. I got the whole squad killed.

I was determined that 3./JG 2 should suffer no losses this frame.

They all did great.

Tin and Duckettt the 2 newest members of 3./JG 2 both scored kills and did a heck of job.

To help reconstruct logs (if necessary):

1 Spitfire multiple hits no confirmed kill @ A12.

1 Spitfire definitely destroyed while attacking Ju 88s 1 sector S of A12 (near V45/V48/V49).

1 Spitfire multiple hits no confirmed kill while attacking Ju 88s 1 sector S of A12 (near V45/V48/V49).

Rearmed/refueled at A8.

2nd sortie:

1 P-51B definitely destroyed near FlaK facility @ 11,9/3.

Disconnected from host while on final approach @ A26.

Aircraft flown: Fw 190A-5 100% internal fuel + external fuel, 4 2cm cannon.

Hits taken by aircraft:

4 x .303 MG 'pings', all at range 350+, all from rear 60 (from Spitfires @ A12).

2 x .50 MG 'pings', both at range 900+, both from front 30 (from B-17).

No recorded damage to aircraft (i.e. ctrl+d shows all green components).

Kills (confirmed - target exploded or was tumbling to ground missing many parts):

2 x Spitfire (model unknown - Vb or IXe I saw cannon barrels).
1 x P-51B.
