Does anyone dive out of the sun affectively in AH?  A slightly larger "no see" circle around the sun might add some fun.

I only want to see a realistic sun added if they ALSO add the realistic ability to instantly cover the central part of the sun with my hand.

The only part of the sun that an airplane can truly hide in is the central part, which is already an "invisible" area in AH.  In the outer sections, all it takes is a thumb over the "circle" to make the rest visible.

But I've noticed that "realistic" is often confused with "difficult" on this BBS.

Foolishly, I built a house west of my place of employment.  This means that for several weeks a year, I drive with the sun in my eyes.  This morning, for instance, the sun was right at the horizon as I drove toward it.  I can guarantee that a "a thumb over the circle" doesn't help very much if there is the least bit of haze, scratches, or moisture on the windshield.  I suspect that plexiglass canopies might exhibit quite a bit of the same sort of glare.

That said, the initial WB sun glare effect was terrible.  I would hate to see it duplicated here.  However, I wouldn't mind a bit more "invisible area" near the sun than what we have now.

In order to have the effect caused by haze, we need said weather effects (which is a somewhat different issue than sun glare).

On a clear day, the "hand over the circle" works fine, and what we have in AH is a clear day.

Personally, I'd prefer my opponents to see me.  Shooting umaneuvering clueless targets isn't really why I'm paying 15 bucks a month.

Nope, I've flown on clear days in a bubble canopy airplane and this just isn't true.

It's part of the reason I pay 15 bucks a month.

I guess your eyes aren't the same as my eyes then. I can always see airplanes and such right up to the "edge" of the "circle" provided I just cover the central part.

Today i was standing at our patio at work when a helicopter flies by directly into the sun. It was a little hazy but yes i could see this thing nearly the whole time - used my hand to mask the sun.
So i have to admit that the sun glare like it is in AH is uhmm correct.

Yes, better sun glare would be nice. At the moment, we can't use many historical tactics involving hte sun.

Why would we want to kill a clueless target who can't see you because of the sun? For the same reason I try to kill targets from hiding in their blindspots.

If your target knows you are there, you have already failed in the most important thing in air combat - surprise.

I would love to see more sun-glare. It would definitely add to the game, as I believe the game is losing a lot of its ACM integrity. Too many yank and bankers at -2k with little or no concern for living, landing, or learning how to fly. Sun glare will aid many fighter pilots as -gasp- bombing and strat targerts adds to bomber pilots.

I think more sun glare would be more realistic, and would like to see it.

But only if the "sunball" is modelled also... let's see how many people here know what I'm talking about...:)
