Initialization failed with -5

[Extreme]

I get this error when I start AH:

Initialization failed with -5
mainSN_FAILED -2

What does this mean?

Things I've tried:
    Uninstalled AH and re-installed
          (with and without old video settings)
    Re-installed DirectX
    Re-installed Video driver

FYI...AH was working until I installed Jedi-Knight2.  Now JK2 and other games works ok except AH!

Any ideas??

Nevermind...worked it out.  Had to re-install sound card drivers.

However, can the error messages be given more info?  It would have made fixing the problem a lot easier.
