Good to hear you're feeling better Udie.  One suggestion tho', talk to your doc/shrink/whatever when you find a good one.  Even a little pot might not be a good idea.  My sister is finally off the pot and on Zoloft and it's done her a world of good.  That was the right thing for her and her body chemistry, not sure if the same would apply to you, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

 SOB,

I think I'm going to go the non-drug route on the psych thing.  After what they put me through last week I don't trust them.  The car and the IRS thing helped add to the anxiety but they also helped me clearify in my own mind that I was depressed not because of an imballance (maybe one due to pot - more addictive than I though) but because I haven't been living my life to it's fullest potential.  I've put off responsibilities to go and get high instead. It took until I was 33, but it finaly caught up to me and it all happened in 1 week.  Everything came unravelled,  I never thought it would happen that fast!  I'm sure that once I get my life in order I'll be toking again :D  It's like beer to me.

The past 2 weeks taught me 2 things.

  1.  There's only one person on this planet who will take care of me best,  ME.

  2.  Responsibilities come FIRST.

Why it took me to 33 to finally realize that I don't know.  But I know it now so I must live life like that or I get depressed/pissed off at myself.  Maybe I'm lucky because some people never figure this stuff out.  I bet you see a diferent Udie at the con next yer ;)

I'm in negotiations with my old boss in Houston to get my old job back at a $5,000/yr increase in pay from where I'm at now :)  I've almost got him talked in to it.  With that raise I think I can get the IRS paid off in 10 months!  So in a year I can have my life back and be FREE.  So until then I can't afford to smokie smokie.

 AKSwulfe,

I didn't get it....  If he figured it was a joke I'd like I can deal with that.  Some people's sense of humor is diferent from others.  But imagine gloating to an admitted alcoholic in the same way.... My quitting was NOT voluntary, though I'm into it now.  That doesn't mean that I don't want to go smoke a big fat joint and it doesn't mean that I wouldn't if offered.  But I don't apreciate somebody flaunting it,  even if it is text.  Part of the reason I'm going back to Houston is because my roommate still smokes and he won't share or go into another room to smoke it. That makes me jones BAD and pisses me off even worse.  But that's not his problem I guess until I tell him I'm out in a month.....

Senna,

If it was a bad joke I forgive you.....

Well, it appeared you took it well.. with the smiley..

Either way, you need to pick up a hobby or do something... when I had to quit for 6 months, I didn't have any desire to smoke at all. Addicted you are not, your mind is just telling you that you are. You need to do something new to satisfy your mind. (and no, not a new drug ;-)

Well I had alot of fun flying that mission last night.  And I was actually using tactics again.  Instead of flying like a... a... well a mind numbed idiot :D like I have been for a couple of years now.  But I'm going to go join a gym or something once I get back to Houston which hopefully will be within the next 2 months.

keep fighting the good fight sir

a log goes with the current, takes a man to swim against it

I'm sure part of your sleep problem was dope related. If your body was used to being bonged to sleep, it missed it and revolted. Takes a good 2 to 3 weeks to half way blow the junk outa ur system - depending on how heavy u were into it ( oh yeah, I forgot, the experts say it ain't addictive   ). Stay busy, eat right, sweat & stay clean - 6 months you'll be a new Udie

IMO, working out is one of the best ways to get your mind off that stuff...

That's exactly what I did when I had to quit, I felt better, had more energy, was a lot more fit, didn't get sick at all.. basically all kinds of benefits and no noticeable negatives.

I definitely recommend working out to you. The first 2 weeks will be the make or break point, that's when you'll be real sore and stuff, so start off slow and build your way up.

Once your in shape, you can do pretty much whatever you want without getting sore for more than a day.

But you can fall out of shape real quick, so you gotta get a work out routine and keep it.

Oh yeah, and chicks will be all like "ooo muscles".. ;)

I could blow smoke up your bellybutton all day with facts and information, but the only thing you believe is your misinformation.

I don't even want to get into it anyway, go with the ignorance Eagler.. "it's bliss".

That's not addiction, hate to break it to ya... your mind gets used to it, a lot like taking the aforementioned prescribed drugs.

I mean, if that's the case... anyone who drinks coffee is addicted to caffeine! Anyone who habitually drinks alcohol is addicted!

Addiction is that you can't quit without another intervention, and requires some mental and physical changes on the chemical level... which pot don't do... you can quit pot.. I did it when I had to. I don't do pot when I need to do something else.

That ain't addiction, that's a habit.
