Boeing to conduct moment of silence today Boeing will conduct a moment of silence today in observance of the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. In the continental United States, a moment of silence will occur at 1 p.m. Eastern, noon Central, 11 a.m. Mountain and 10 a.m. Pacific time. Employees outside these time zones are encouraged to observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. local time, in remembrance of the time the first hijacked airliner hit the World Trade Center in New York City.
