Thanks Pei,

I will miss him. He always reminded me how tough pro ballplayers are. How they play in pain, knowing the price they'll pay later. In a day where new rules are needed to curtail personal celebration, his legacy stands as a tribute to cool, collected, been there, done that attitude. When they ripped off a piece of his face, he always came back to beat 'em on the next play. Tuff.

His Waterloo was the game that made me a lifelong NFL fan. I was young, and wanted Broadway Joe to teach the old guard a lesson. I feared his arrival in the game, but remember feeling sadness in his final stand. Majestic.
