Morgoth, no flamewar here. I could care less, I just bought a GF4 because I needed to upgrade.. incidently from the same graphics card the orginal poster of this thread has. 9700 wasn't on the shelf. I didn't buy it. Grayarea wanted info on it, the only thing I saw regarding it was the above link I posted.

Obviously this was a bad move on my part, if I find anything relevant to a question someone is asking, I shouldn't post it at all.. and should instead let them wallow in their own decisions because no one else would answer their question or give them any relevant info and was too busy trying to give the guy with the only info in that thread a hard time. I should also not offer any of my personal experiences with other new cards, because this will naturally make me a fan boy... despite I've had a nvidia powered card for exactly... one day.

Someone got a 3dmark score of 25,000 some with an overclocked p4 2.5 (up to 4ghz) and an overclocked 9700, using liquid nitrogen.

Grayarea, go for the 9700 Pro.
Its FSAA should be as good as the Voodoo5 but about 10x faster, plus you will be able to run it at much higher resolution, with Anisotropic filtering enabled; the Geforce 4 lags with Ani filter.
There are new drivers out for the Radeon and they seem to be improving. The card will last.

All in all, the 9700 spanks the Geforce 4 around and leaves it in the dust like poor Pongo and his pathetic attempts at flaming random people for attention.

Am I not allowed to say hes wrong without it being a flame. I flamed him a little cause even after that he tried to say I was wrong. He says that I dont understand time. at the time he responded to me that the retraction didnt exist it did..what part of time do I not understand.

I pulled the trigger on that ATI card. It was just delivered to me at work. Soon, I will know the truth...

Really though, I don't expect a whole lot with my cpu at 1.6 ghz.

Now I hear the Hammer is delayed. I'm going to wait for that to come out to upgrade, so I  won't be able to give this card a workout until early next year.

You still have problems grasping this, and were the one who initiated my second response... which you interpreted as a flame.

Wasn't really one, you continued to flame me. But hey, if you count one person as "most"... then go right on ahead, it's quite obvious that not only do you not understand time but you don't understand math either.. 1 is not most... it's only 1. Just like how 8 minutes difference in posts means one existed before the other, and thusly could not be read.
