For skuzzy or anyone who knows.

If one were to use a satellite connection, upwards to 512K a sec download and about 7K upload, would Aces High not be worth playing?

Basically I guess the question is, with a "solid" satelite connection with the above and even better upload/download than listed above, will gameplay online be too warpy/lost packets?

I know the server side hardware and software wise are the backbone of handeling the multiple players at one time, but given the connection Ive listed, would it be pheaseable to play this way.

Thanks for any info on this.

A pure 56k connection, with a decent ISP will be FAR better than satelite.

Satelite will give you faster download speeds, as the expense of MUCH higher latencies.  It might be worth using for browsing and such, but keep the 56k around for playing games.

Anything requiring a real-time connection, as all online games do, will not be playable over a satellite connection.

As Inominate says, the packet latencies (the time it takes for a packet to traverse from end to end) is horrific.  Usually can be measured in seconds.

:) cool Thanks for the really quick replies. The regular dialup will have to stay then.

Thanks again
