Saw a review of Fighter Ace 2... yeah yeah... I know... Quake Planes, etc...

They do have one feature that might be a nice addition to AH, oxygen.

If you fly above 10K and forget to turn your oxygen on, you die.

I think it would be one more thing to add to the realism.

Speaking of other game's features and realism... On the WB3 webpage it makes this mention of how the damage modeling has come so far as to model individual hits and their trajectory. However, in Aces High (and WB3 too) there are very few systems that can be damaged.

It would be interesting if there were lots of smaller, less lethal, malfunctions. Smoke in the cockpit, broken instruments, cut wires and hoses etc...

I read that too, It would be cool to have this in AH.  Would suck getting shot in the tail and having your rudders knocked out.

You won't just suddenly die if you forget oxygen
There are warning signs.

Besides, how high and long someone can go above 10k, is invidual.
Some people can go up to 14k and cruise all day there without any harm.
Theres even people who can be consicous for several minutes at 25k.
(I did once read test results that were done during WW2)

well you dont need oxygen till you are above 15k, and that is still a very safe alt with out oxygen.

The highest I have been with out oxygen was 17k above sea level, but was only there for a few mins, then jumped out of plane. but at 17k with out oxygen, you are ok for about ten mins befor you start having problems, unless you smoke, then about 5 to 7 mins. and as I smoke, my finger tips and lips just started to turn blue when we jumped.

Just to annoy the LW, why not model G suits.

P 51's and, I beleive, late model Hogs had them.

Can you imagine the whining?

Hye OpIvy,

Would suck getting shot in the tail and having your rudders knocked out.

This does happen in AH. Its a current feature.

AyE! What Dago speaks is the truth. You DO lose ailerons, rudders, elevators as well as gear, guns, radiators, wing tips, wings, and stabilizors in Aces High.

I don't think tight leather trousers and jack boots count as a G suit, do they?

Actually, did they? I had no idea of that. I knew from reading Yeagers biography that P-51's had them, and I noticed on a cockpit layout diagram for an F4 there was an outlet jack for a G suit, and I honestly thought it was an alllies only thing.....

Well..Germans used some type of G-pants on 262.The extent to which they were used on other planes I am not sure of.But certainly not an allied thing only
