Fantastic game. Its enough to make me want to buy a FFB wheel, and I dont really play driving games (till now).

I noticed someone put up an AH server a few days ago and we had some great races.

Funked, I know you'll read this and I got a question for ya. I been playing around with final drive ratios on the GTi and it seems pretty pointless. High ratios dont inprove acceleration to any extent. Really low ratios (like 2.4) are actually a little faster because there's less shifting. I confirmed this by accelerating between 2 landmarks on the big straight, and in online drag racing. It seems like the engines are modeled with constant HP from 5000-8000 fpm.

Yeah there are a lot of people who have noticed that (at least in the GTI) the power band is pretty wide.  I actually improved my times by taking most of the turns on the GP track in 4th gear instead of 3rd.  The GTi is a fantasy car right now, and I'm sure they just made up a power vs. rpm curve for it.  When they get to real cars (or player created cars), I'm sure we'll see more reasonable power curves.

You gotta get FFB!  It's really well done in this game.
My other favorite game for FFB is Rally Trophy.

Don't forget to get the latest version of GTITuner.  350 hp GTI with wings and slicks.

I use a FFB Wheel and just tried the demo of that game.
It's a blast !
Nascar is great driving game also.. better but more complex/difficult to get the hang of.
