Perking is totaly dependant on what if anything is done with how aircraft interact with GV's. And how effective the Tiger's 88 is VS Objects and othe GV's since we can only speculate as to what HTC plans to about this, we can only gues what the approparate coast would be, and base it on variables we know nothing of.

They have a King Tiger at the Patton museum in Fort Knox Kentucky.  One side of the hull and turret is cut away so you can see inside of the tank.  It has immensely thick armor.

However!  I have read a Soviet study on the King Tiger that said the armor was brittle due to a lack of a certain element in the metal.  I have posted it on this board before.  Let me see if I can find it.

What we need now is a good GV dammage model, no more 50 cal blowing through the front armor of a Panzer 4 or such, no more ostis killing Panzers with 5 pings and Panzers not killing ostis with 5 75mm etc.

Updated GV dmg model. Updated dmg model all together actually.

What I was told is that the 50cal rounds are not actually pentrating the armor on the front, the are killing the guns though....how I am not shure:)

Comparison of penetration Tiger/Panther
« Reply #19 on: September 23, 2002, 03:00:44 AM »
Interestingly enough, the Panther DID perform better on armor penetration:

KwK 42/L70 (Panther

Durchschlagsleistung bei 90° (60°) Auftreffwinkel (mm):

        7,5 cm PzGr 39/42      //         7,5 cm PzGr 40/42
0 m distance         167 (133) // 230 (197) -
450 m distance      149 (121) // 198 (154) -
900 m distance      133 (110) // 170 (123) -
1350 m distance     118 (99) // 145 (99) -
1850 m distance     104 (89) // 122 (80) -
2300 m distance      91 (79) // 103 (65) -

Numbers are for 90 degree hits, bracketed for 60 degrees.

KwK 36/L51 (Tiger I)

PzGr 39 8.8cm // PzGr 40 8.8cm
500 m distance   111 // 156
1000 m distance  100 // 140
1500 m distance  92 // 125
2000 m distance  84 // 110

Numbers are for 90 degree hits.

Note that the PzIV and Tiger II had different guns...
