WIN 2000 vs. WIN ME

I have a M$ FFB 2.  I can adjust the forces in Win2k.

Just as a footnote, I prefer Win2k over XP for security, privacy, and licensing issues.  I also recommend Service Pack 2, and not installing Service Pack 3.  My experience is SP 3 breaks things, rather than fixes them.  (SP 3 broke my external USR modem drivers, ruined some cad tool software I was working with, made me reinstall Office, IE 6 won't install after SP 3 is on if you only had IE 5.0 previously, AND adds an "automatic update feature" you can't disable without manually killing the service.  Read the EULA to see what that little feature is for...)

I guess I just got lucky then.  Just for fun though, you might want to take a look at your services list LePaul.  Do you really want Microsoft to be able to send files to your computer without permission?  (Automatic Updates and one other service SP3 adds can do this.)  Now just for fun, try this, go onto the control panel, pick "Automatic Updates" and select disable.  Reboot and look again at the services list.  Surprisingly enough, you'll find the service is still active and running. ;)  (You can stop the service and disable it manually.)
