My ADSL just went out.
Now I know what you're thinking.....why would the title be woo bloody hoo if the ADSL is out and how did he post this?
Well.....everything stopped here, no more Kazaa, no more browsing, Jenga looking at me with those eyes that say "Go on then Mr-I'm-so-bloody-clever-network-engineer, fix it".
Ok so pinged the DNS, nothing. Pinged DHCP server, nothing. Hmmm. It's midnight here and the Dutch ISPs support line closes at 8pm......and they're all brain dead anyway. This could be bad.
Rebooted the ADSL box and it did a very strange thing. I have a 1Mb connection.......when the box reloaded it picked up a
2mb line.
And YEP ITS TRUE! Couldnt believe it at first but speed tests show 195kbps now.
. We'll see how much the next bill is for......anything out of the ordinary and I'll immediately become Mr Thicky who really didnt notice that all those lights on the ADSL box changed.
Right then.....what to download next?!
