Thorns - Excellant advice.

I've been in the aviation business 24 yrs and have seen exactly the same thing.  A few I know have died.  Two friends from work died in a J3 a little while back, one was very experienced, the other a fairly new PP. In a Cub of all things.

Hang around airports enough, you will know someone who dies, if your lucky, you won't have to see it happen.

Nope, only the person who actually built it will be able to get that. It would involve documentation to show he was the actual builder and provide photos, papers etc. for corroboration. He would also have to innitiate the airworthy process and apply for the placards after FAA inspection then fly the minimum hours before getting permission to fly it away from the field and take passengers and so on.

Now he won't need an AI mechanic to do the annual inspections since it's an experimental. Which brings this to mind.

HT in about 6 months I'll have my A&P. Why don't we talk about the maintenance of this lil bird and my account here......... ;)
