joysticks & device numbers
« on: October 01, 2002, 04:55:12 PM »
I use a ch pro throttle (USB) and I did have a Saitek Cyborg Gold (USB) stick.  All worked fine.

Recently, I bought a MS sidewinder stick (USB) and it insists on being device #1 (or it will not work - not recognized.)  In gaming options (control panel), I can switch the device numbers and it's ok until I reboot the machine.  After the reboot, CH is assigned #1, MS #2 and I have to reswitch them.

I've tried switching the USB cables for the two devices, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Any ideas?

de-install the CH throttle and the Sidewinder... then install the sidewinder followed by the CH throttle.

It seems lame... but its all I can think of.

Thanks, DJ.  That did the trick.
