by the way theres a few junk objects in the file, some bits of biped, and footsteps, dont worry as there all under the stage and dont show in the rendering, just delete them.

To use file,

open up your model file, then select merge from the file menu and select the light rig file, select all in the popup box and ok it.

render your piccy.

have fun :D

To make it even better put another ring of lights under the stage to uplight the sceen a bit, and make them grey or brown to emulate light reflected off the ground. :)

Hey Blank, I decided since everyone is a Tank mood, Id model my own. Any Good tips on doing Treads?
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Hi Nefarious :D
sorry for not replying sooner been away on surfing holiday.
mmm treads...

I dont really know how to make some good ones but this it what I did:

in photoshop
1,Drew a couple of links for the track and used the clone stamp to make it longer
2, in used  the alpha to cut holes in the links so you can see trough them

in Max
1, Using the line tool i made a shape around the wheels.
2, I extuded the shape
3, added Unwrap uvw  mapping co-ordinated to the track shape and added the texture

render and tracks have wholes through due to alpha cutting.

I haven't tried but I see no reason why you couldn't animate the texture map on the tracks to make them look like they move.

Also have a close look at the tracks in operation flashpoint.

pretty cool :D

you should start a thread like I did so everyone can watch it change as you work on it more.

tracks are pretty much the same as mine except I used planes so had to force 2 sided on them.

how many polys buy the way?

working on an idea for the tracks.

I look forward to the textured version. :)

VERY NICE!!   Esecially the winter tank!
Heres some tank models I made in a 2 player tank game I'm making... Textures stink though, I made them in MSPaint! lol

Frame rate & matrix texture allso stinks.. as u can see in the pic I get a frame rate of bout 45 and I havent even added shooting, shooting collision, or sounds yet...
