CH Pro Throttle -> no buttons
« on: October 01, 2002, 05:51:55 AM »
hi!

i first installed AH an hour ago.
calibrated everything, and then i tried to set the buttons up.
but.
i have CH Throttle, CH Pedals and TM Topgun Stick. all USB with Windows XP.
AH, does work well with the axes of all of them. but it doesnt recognize buttonpresses on the throttle. not even in setup. they DO work in all other sims i fly.

thanks in advance

I have a CH Pro Throttle, along with Pro Rudders and a FX stick.
I have setup and use Speedkeys for my button programming. The only occasional thing that happens to mine is when powered down for awhile it will 'forget' the previous one and go to default.
I simply reload my Aces High template and all is functional again.
I just programmed my buttons to the various keystrokes AH uses except for joystick buttons 1 to 3, I have them set to DX inputs.

If other games work though, I can't see it not working for AH only.
Does the throttle itself register movement and not the buttons or the whole thing is ignored?

Edit- I am running Win98se and not USB, however.

hi

the throttle movement for enginecontrol is recognízed. just the buttons arent.

no need for speedkeys. its just a 20 or so button stick.
as said, works fine. with WB3 at least :)

There is a mapping step you need to go through to assign button X on the throttle to a button Y in AH.  Until you do that it only sees the stick buttons.

It is not a real intuitive setup though.  It can take a bit of fiddling in the AH setup to get it right.

Learn something new everyday, I didn't know about that.
Maybe I could dump Speedkeys using that. It doesn't give me too much trouble though, but will keep that nugget in the back of the cranium.
