getting the clip-board map to work; importing existing project elevations and importing terrain tiles.
Clip board maps and terrain tiles:
1 - create a texsrc folder in your HTC\aheditor\terrains\"yourproject" folder;
2 - Move your "myterr.bmp" (graphic of your map) into it; and,
3 - Put all of your terrain tile bmps in the texsrc folder.
Doing these three things before you run a build will let you build a terrain with the right map in the clipboard and your own terrain tiles.
Importing terrain elevations from the old TE (terrain editor) - this works for terrains built in the last version - I have no idea if it works in any previous versions.
1 - Open your project and click on file->export;
2 - Put in a new name with a .bmp extension - as an example: "Egypt.bmp" - and then enter the highest elevation in the map your working on;
3 - Click save and then close your project.
4 - Open your graphics editor and open your elevations file (mine for example was "Egypt.bmp"). Have a look at the graphic to see if the elevations are correct (it looks like a blue/gray/black topographical map - give or take).
5 - Open your project and click file->import. Look in the HTC\aheditor folder for your elevations bmp, select it and click open. THEN, make sure you put in the altitude of the highest point in your map in the space available. Now, click ok. The terrain elevations you had before should be there - check it to be sure. If there are major differences, check the elevation bmp you built (my example: Egypt.bmp). Don't go into major modifications of your project at this point, it isn't necessary. Fix the elevation bmp and re-import it.
These solutions may not work for everyone (of for that matter anyone in particular) but they did work for me. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
