Favre has a much better arm but he makes a lot more mistakes than Gannon.  This is probably attributable to problems with the surrounding talent and offensive scheme, but the fact remains that Favre turns the ball over a lot.   And he is mobile, but not the running threat Gannon is.  I'd love to see him in Silver and Black though.

Ah... that whole Raider mystique BS... They lost that decades ago.

Don't ge me wrong... I'm still a fan. It's just not the same as it was before when the team was made of a bunch of no-name second hand has-beens and they were winning the AFC West every year without a doubt.

Mystique... not there... there's nothing surprising about guys like Tim Brown or Jerry Rice or Rich Gannon. They had mystique back in the day when you could look at win/loss percentage and the Raiders were better in black than they were in white.

The mystique died on a snowy night in foxboro, ma.:p

Way before then.  That travesty in Foxboro was nothing.  This is a franchise which has suffered things like the Immaculate Reception, 51-3, etc.  That "forward pass" is not going to deter them.

IMHO the "mystique" officially left the building when Howie retired.  He was the last link to the giants.

Other good answers would be "the day Art Shell was fired" or "the day the moving trucks left for LA".

After that it was all about Al.  There was nobody there who could question his authority.  Fortunately he seems to have figured out that this was a bad thing, and is letting the young dogs run wild.

You know... before I posted about the mystique, I thought about that very same thing. Howie is the last.

Personally I could care less about w-l records or "big" stats in the regular season.  Just win enough to get to the dance then we see who is "Great".  imo, you aint got at least three rings, your a also ran, and your records are a big whoopie cushion. ;)

Huh. I took the week off football this week (eagles bye, Cdn thanksgiving) so could someone please explain to me how the raiders lost to the Rams and there 3rd string QB? I looked at the stats and it appears as though it might have been the Marshall Faulk show out there. Raiders D not clicking today? Still ya figure their O would be good for 40 points at least against the Rams. Any comments?

The RAMS were without one star on their team, at home. I could hand off to Faulk, he was a monster against the Raiders.

Although Bruce was there to catch a sub Bugler QB's passes all day. DO you think you could be a backup in the NFL and not be competent? With that receiving crew?

Raiders looked like they will in the playoffs. Outcoached. Their Super Bowl is in Tampa Bay, with Gruden.

Too bad it's in San Diego, ain't it?

Fools!

Creamo how sad.  You have nothing better to do than make fun of other people's football teams.

I mean I could see it if you were a Dolts or Donks or Queefs or Patsies fan.  The Raiders actually have a rivalry with those teams.

What am I supposed to do, make fun of the Pack?  Hell you don't even live there.  You're just a desert dwelling grease monkey who saw an up an coming team and jumped on the bandwagon.

I know what I'll do, I'll make fun of UNR's team.  Hahaha Hawaii kicked your ass.  Hahaha.  Do a hula dance Creamo.

Oh that was fun.  Yay.

And back on topic, whup dee diddlyin doo.  The Raiders lost a game.  Oh the agony, the Raiders have never ever lost a game before, what will I do?

If you had told me last year that the Raiders would be 4-1 after playing PIT, TEN, and STL I would have said you were crazy.  I'm very pleased with their start and am looking forward to stabbing Dolts fans next Sunday at the Coliseum.
