I have been a loyal customer for some time so I got first dibs on the new 2003 Demotivators. Bought myself a 2003 calender today. Attached are some of them.

I bought a mini-poster of the "Mistakes" poster.  It arrived and I opened the box and read the invoice.  The invoice had a stamp that said "Packed and Inspected by disgruntled minimum-wager worker".  I thought that was funny.

That was until I took the bubble wrap off of the framed poster.  I found that the glass in the frame was cracked.  They had shipped it in a box that was about twice as big as the product and it must have broken when the UPS guy threw it off the truck.  (I worked briefly for RPS while in college.  I never ship anything of value with these idiots.)

Anyway, I emailed them and they sent another one out straight away.....without insisting that I ship the first one back (which I did anyway).  The second one came back packed as poorly as the first, but it arrived in one piece. :)

Those are pretty good.  I like the one about "if you're motivated by a pretty poster and a quaint slogan....".  Right on the head!

What's up with the Despair site? It's asking for a password and username.

Wow, I don't know.  It worked just fine the other day.

It's locked for the first 24 hours after the release of the 2003 material. Only invited guests are allowed during this time. :D

It's difficult for me to concentrate at work. Two weeks and one day until I leave for Rio again for a week of fun and a week of work, and then maybe for a little more fun before I go back to the states. With this trip and one in December I will have been to Rio 8 times this year...lol.

This is a view from the apartment I normally rent there. I am using a higher resolution version as my background. Something interesting is that last fall I was there in late October. There was the US carrier battle group Nimitz I believe offshore conducting joint manouvers with the Brazilians, excercises and such. I watched the Brazilian Air Force and the US Navy put on a little mini airshow over Copacabana beach one late morning.

I remember waking up like like 11:30AM with a serious hangover, hearing this jet, thinking WTF? It was from this very view in fact. Me and a brazilera friend watched the show for about the next hour.
