Not the 'same difference' at all.  Yet you are trying to force that false concept into this discussion.  You're saying gameplay (product use)  is the same as player behavior (product user) and they are most definately not.   Thems is apples and oranges.
Oed

apples to apples. here, let me fix your attempted comparison to read correctly.

"You're saying player gameplay (product use)  is the same as player behavior (product use)."

or alternatively...

"You're saying player gameplay (product user)  is the same as player behavior (product user)."

how one chooses/uses a plane or ch 1 is entirely up to them within limits imposed by the game.

you can't seperate the two as different. it's all about one trying to impose their will/standards on another.  gameplay is interchangeble with behavior.

nice try, tho'.

The problem is that some use Ch1 as their verbal toilet...that won't change until HTC decides to draw the line.

I fear that, unless they do,the numbers of new subscribers that they have projected would stay with the game because of their new marketing campaign won't be realized.

Or, they could give us a perma squelch ability but as HT said, that realy isn't a solution.

....
After checking the HTC front page to help clarify I find HTC has dropped any reference to online TOS regarding behavior so I'm compelled to retract my prior statements and I have only left the following so you could  see what I was going to say:
The monthly fee does not entitle anyone to tell other subscribers what way play nor what to play. And it certainly does not empower them to be disruptive in the arenas or behave in any manner they choose. Which you have first hand knowlege and experience of.
In the absence of a TOS for online use and behavior in AH you is obviously free to be as much as big of an bellybutton online as you've shown you're capable of being.  Same with anyone else really. Other players have no grounds currently to say if you or anyone else acting in such a way is right or wrong.
 Oed

you mean you find calling someone a lamer is "disruptive" when i think it's merely descriptive?

no, it boils down to mr high horses' trying to impose their worldview on others.  no different than someone trying to tell soemone else what/how to fly.

HTC has a vulgarity filter in place, and this could bear some expansion to include racist terms (which we don't see very often anyway). if you don't like the political crap that comes up on ch1 every so often, you can either detune ch1, simply mentally filter (ignore) or squelch the individuals involved.

what you're basically saying is that because *you* don't particularly like trash or smack talking, *no one else* should be alllowed to do it.

there are lines that should not be crossed, i agree - but my line is slightly less uptight than yours.

You have the ability to squelch ch 1 AND individual users.  Impose your individual standards of Ch 1 chatter in that manner.  You don't like what someone says, squelch 'em.  You don't like the channel as a whole that night, squelch the whole squealing thing.  Not going to bother me one damn bit if you don't return a .  In fact, it more bothers me when people think they MUST be given a every time they die.

no one(or at least almost ) anyone, cares what you think about what they do or say.Its as simple as that.

you want people to do as you say join the army and become an officer , else get off peoples backs.

all countries have their fair share of idiots, its universal.

rooks have some of the best flyers? er you could say that about any country.

that's all i've pretty much ever done and do... you hardly even find masked vulgarity coming from me... i'll smack down on other people's skills, or lack thereof, especially "names"  - you don't see me riding some newbie's back...

"go learn some acm"

"TA ---->"

"lol you lamer ganger dweebs"

"run to acks! why did you even in on me first place? lamer!"

then of course i'll fire back at those not involved in a situation and try and get all high horsey or uppity.

whels and voss and my pushing of their buttons are a different situation tho'

seriously... try not and confuse me with the total potty mouth, HO-whine in 100db, cheat claiming, political spewing nitwit dweebs, ok?
