I played in the beta, and even though it's fun for awhile it gets terribly repetitive.

played it for a week then got major burnout on it.  To me its everwarp.  It feels very similar to Everquest cept in space with less to do.  No truly groundbreaking MMORPG out there.

Did DL the soldiers of anarchy demo and really was quite suprised at how much fun it was.

I was in the beta and am still playing.  The game incredibly fun and addicting when I find time to play it.  Avid, what server (galaxy) are you on and what is your name?

Galileo:  Panther - level 54 Terran Enforcer
Andromeda:  Veers and Octavius - Progen Sentinal and Jenquai Defender
Pegasus:  Turtle - Terran Tradesman

as you can see, the only character I really spend time with is Panther ;)

Look me up if you're ever on line =]

Hey Octavius,

I only have one character so far:

Name: Rychter
Galaxy: Galileo
Level 18 Terran Tradesman

I'll look for ya when online and you can show me how grouping works. So far I have just been lone wolfing it.

umm, it's not groundbreaking, but Star Wars Galaxies will be bringing a new way of dealing with character advancement to the table.  Well not really new, but a refinement of the skill based gains instead of level based gains.  Also, politics as a skill tree is pretty new I think.  The crafting system is different than what I've seen before.  You build schematics, prototypes and then have the assembly line churn out your product.  The schematics mean that player A's item might be slightly different from player B's item.  Every other game I've played, the recipes for making an item were the same for everyone and everyone made the same item (if they had the right skill level for it.)

Of course what we're all really waiting for is the space expansion.  I mean come on, we all wanna fly X-wings and TIEs!  :D

As for E&B...  I got into the beta.  Installed it, played a little bit, then said "no thanks."  It didn't suit me at all.  *shrugs*  that's cool though, 300,000+ people play EverCrack and I can't stand that game.  :)

Oh I forgot to add this in my orginal post, here is what I LOVED about EnB. Installation went without a hitch. Upon running the game for the first time everything went smoothly. I got to the login screen, created an account, picked my Race/class and ship, and then I proceeded to play for 6 straight hours. (ok maybe not 6 straight hours, I did take some breaks) You want to know what I love about this? Not one problem. No installation errors. No major patches. No login errors. In 6 hours of play not ONE CTD, disco, or Lockup. When I logged off to sleep I was VERY satisfied, IMO they did a wonderful job with it.

If you like and or have played MMORPGs then you should like this game. Like some of the other games it does have a free 30 day online trial.

I thought it was pathetic. Nice graphics, shame about the dumbed down controls and combat.

Star Wars Galaxies will be a landmark. It's more of a social MMOG, IMO. You can be completely non-combatant.
War! Never been so much fun. War! Never been so much fun! Go to your brother, Kill him with your gun, Leave him lying in his uniform, Dying in the sun.

I read about E&B somewhere and decided to sign up for the beta.  I sign up for many betas and am rarely picked, so I said what the hell.  Less than a week later, bingo they select me.  I download and play (hey, its a free game).  I play for a while and I was impressed.

Yes, it isn't ground breaking, but it is VERY well balanced and put together.  I can see my interest fading in a few months, but for now, its fun and quite addicting.  Star Wars Galaxies will no doubt be a hit... just look at the sheer number of star wars nuts around ya! (me included) :)  E&B is IMO a very good choice fow now.  Whats better, clubbing rats in loin cloths or blasting spaceships with lasers and missiles?  Its all in your preferences :)  Maybe I'll play 3 months, maybe I'll play more... when Star Wars Galaxies comes out, maybe I'll play that.  I don't think anyone should really compare the two in order to attract and promote one or the other.  I say give it a try, if you like it, you like it, if not, move on :)

Beef hit it right on, no bugs, well put together, no CTD, connect is beautiful... only bad part is, its not Aces High :)  No free download and free trial.  Ya have to be willing to pay the 40 or 50 to give it a shot.  In a few months the price for the retail may drop though.

Beef I didn't know you played!!! We need to hook up damnit =]  I wish there were character transfers from one galaxy to another.

(damnit i didnt know you played!  we need to hook up)

Hehe Oct maybe one night I will jump a server and hook up with you, or maybe you can come over to Orion and hook up with my charater Traxnor DeRailler. I will admit right now I'm really trying to get Trax to lvl 75 for that nice upgrade. (I get 3 weapon slots then) Most of the time I will be running the trade route from Somerled Station to Prasad Station or I will be in Grissiom Sector in Beta Hydri "Cow tipping" with my guild. (We call the big Dzuni things "cows", don't ask me how it got started, all I know is that they don't make good hamburger :) ) Anyway I'm in the guild called "Strength and Honour" on Orion if you want to look us up.

Oh well I need to get back on, I have to fill several orders of MLX2 and Type X2 plasma missile orders. :)
