Think  it's more a case of the AW guys love scenarios but know they ain't sharp enough yet (keyword) in ftr. Doing their part and not handicapping the team.

In my case, I'm a pretty hardcore fighter dweeb, but flying buffs in scenarios can be a *LOT* of fun.  Especially in a scenario like Bigweek, where historically the buffs were the bait.

AN has got it right.  Flying bombers in scenarios is usually a challenge from takeoff to (hopefully) landing.  If it's not demanding then you aren't doing it right.   :)

But this is the first time in a long time that we've had a chance to fly a Northolt Wing airplane (Mustang/Spitfire/Hurricane) in a scenario so we went for fighters.

nah ... in AW there was a whole group that flew bombers in every scenario, just because they think it's 'fun' and because there just have to be bombers - especially in this one.

i flew B-25's, TBF's, Sturmi's, Kates ... whatever as long as it dropped bombs or torpedos  ;-)

just occurred to me that if that really is true, you better give the handicapped AWers the fiters ; cause the only way the Allies are going to collect points is by bombing the targets ... and you need to be sharp for that.

I fly bombers because that is what I enjoy, whether in a scenario or in the MA!  As for "not handicapping the team", that is absolute rubbish!  We are all one team, and all have our parts to play to ensure success, whether it is bombing the target or escorting the bombers so that they can make it to the target.  If we don't work together as a team, we might as well give up now....

OOPS!

What I was gonna say is that's correct. I am one who likes to fly buffs in scenarios. I've flown with Jordi *many* a time.

The squeem factor is real though too.
I have a funny learning curve.. It's like it all "clicks" at once but until then I don't seem to get incrimentally better on the normal curve. It's like I go from 20% to 80% effective overnight. I havn't hit that point yet and would NEVER wanna handicap Jordi and the buffers. For me 80-100% is practice.

But the magic "click" has to happen first.
It averages out in the end - but I just stay dweebier longer.  :)
