i found some neat tools for photoshop for do'n rivets
one is just brushes but there are a few of them one places 3 pixel dots in a line as you paint then there is a few that are like 500 pixels long with 1 pixel dots ....like so

and the other is a action file that makes new layers and one is called rivet highlights it basicly highlights some of the rivets and the other layer is rivet shadows
this is a pic of what it does basicly ... i took the highlight layer out cause it didnt look right
i did the rivets with the first brush i talked about
