the ballistics of the two gun types are very different.

see below for how the LW set them up.  i find this convergence to work very well.

I set all four MG151/20s to 425m: good for long range shots, and gives a nice spread to the hail of fire at short range/snapshots. If you fire at 200m from dead six, the 20mms will saw the wings of the enemy.

MG131s go to 625m.

If I use MK108s, I set them to 300m.

Devious the AH convergence is set to yards I believe so to match historical levels you have to fiddle around a bit.All my litrature only mentions the convergences in metres so i match it and add a little in AH

190a8
cowling mg131/13mm set to 475yards

inner mg151/20mm set to 550 yards
outer mg151/20mm set to 500 yards (this gives nice spread/box for ground attack, for air to air id set it 550y)

190a5

cowling mg17/7.9mm set to 350 yards

inner mg151/20mm set to 550 yards
outter mgff/20mm set to 500 yards

mgff have a poor effective range according to other material that ive seen so i set them to (roughly) historical levels of convergence or maybe just under. When you do set the LW guns to historical levels of 400metres or so you will notice its a little easier to see what youre fireing as ballistics are pretty poor for LW weapons. when set further out i find it a whole lot easier to lead shoot personally.

From 'Luftwaffe Fighter force: view from ther cockpit' Adolf Galland et al

'MG 17- 7.9mm 200 metres effective range
MG 81- 7.9mm 200 metres effective range
MG 131- 13mm 400 metres effective range
MG 151- 15mm 600 metres effective range
MG 151/20-20mm 400 metres effective range
MGFF- 20mm 400 metres effective range
MK 103-3cm 800 metres effective range
MK 108-3cm 400 metres effective range
BK 5- 5cm 800 metres effective range'

there ya go real effective ranges for you so you get an idea of how far they should be set out to but not beyond.Hope this is usefull.
