Daschle, having served in the military, may have some confusion over the proper civilian flag salute. Lott, having served his political career since 1972 after graduating from the University of Mississippi where he served as a male cheerleader, can be expected to know the proper civilian salute

.
BTW, they're all pretty much tools, IMO, and they all thank their lucky stars that so many supporters on each side buy into the whole wrestling "Grudge Match" approach that sucks the real issues out of any political debate. Known demographics on the support base, good marketing to push the right buttons and we have Trent "The Rock" Lott vs. Tom "The Undertaker" Daschle, with Bush in there as Vince McMahon. A pretty weak group of characters overall, but "Angry White Man Gringrich" and "Root of all Evil Clinton," are a tough act to follow.
I interview a lot of small business Republicans, the guys always cited in any tax cut or such as the real winners, and guess what? Many are starting to realize that they are losing out to big business campaign dollars. The steel tariff, for example, is slamming many smaller manufacturers who now see their production costs as non-competitive. White collar, middle-class suburban workers benefit from trickle down, sorry, you are an expense item to be eliminated if at all possible.
What about the inner city poor? Warren Beatty in Bullwort was right. Don't look to the Democrats for any real solution, they are just interested in keeping the support with as little effort as possible. Individual rights? The Clinton administration wasn't shy about eroding our individual rights in order to appear tough on crime. Ashcroft may be worse, or maybe he's just doing it more openly and in a shorter period of time.
As long as they can make you "hate" the other side, there is no incentive to take a dispassioned look at either side, and little chance for a leadership other than the self-interested bunch of shysters we have now.

[Hilarious Thrawn, I added my Vince McMahon refrence while you were posting yours. I agree on the looks part
