I’m considering buying E-D glasses. They’re supposed to work with almost any 3d game since they operate on the graphics-driver and are thereby “game independent”.

Has anyone got any experience with these 3d glasses or similar products in AH?

i got a pair with my ge4 ti 4400

you need at least 80 fps as the glasses halve that.

I enjoy them every once and a while. They work well but not perfect

I have the E-D's, saw them at a puter show once and they looked great, got them home tryed f--kin with them for 2 weeks, DL new drivers, spoke with tech support, tried manually adj with hot keys, and the damn things work like toejam...The only game that i was really impressed woith was NASCAR 4 and 2002..AH is better without..Bottom line: They are a waste of money but if you want to buy them, i will sell you mine.*1/2 price w/ cord*.[50 bucks US currency +shipping].

I had 3d shutter glasses that came w/ my Geforece ti4600, and my experience was that while they're great for car games and games where things are close to you, they don't add to Aces High because things are so far away, the 3d effect doesn't really matter and you can't really notice the difference.

Most of these glasses will lower your max resolution probably so you can get the right refresh and framerates.

very cool with operation flashpoint too. you have to have a fast computer(AMD 2000XP running Win98 here)/graphics card to push out the fps as stated the glasses just about cut them in half. I turned down the 3d effect and bump up the brightness a tad to compensate ( ctrl g in game with glasses on - ctrl T)
If I didn't get them free with card and knew how they performed on my system, I would have bought a pair anyway.

Hey Eagler,

Were you able to get the sights in OpFP to stop ghosting?

I've found that these things work best, as somebody else said, in games where the 3d objects are relatively close. Racing sims and shooters like Q3A or UT are good. Games where the environments are big don't work so well. Examples would be most flight sims, shooters like Tribes2 or OpFP, or RPGs like Everquest or Dark Age of Camelot.

turn down the amount of 3d and you can get the sights to work

in ah only flaw is that con dots a ways out are double vision, look like two dots when there is only one but they merge together when close enough to matter

looks pretty neat in a bf110 when you spin around and look towards the rear, real depth perception then.
