A sure way to STOP THE SNIPER
« on: October 17, 2002, 09:52:36 PM »
I know a sure way to stop this guy:

We need to pass a law requiring all gun owners that purchased a  gun that fires a .223 within the past 50 years to bring in the firearm for a ballistic test.

That way, the sniper would have to bring his gun in to be tested, or risk non- compliance.

You don't have to register a hunting rifle even 2 years ago. and to buy a rifle at a gun show 1 year ago you just and to sign paper and you didn't need photo ID.

So unless sniper is a law abiding person, doubt his gun is reg.

You have to be joking, even if you could track down all the .223 guns sold, you would have Thousands of people to talk to.

It is one of the most popular sporting rounds out there.

Sure way to waste everyone's time maybe.

.223 is not as popular as .22 long rifle.  But it is very popular, the rifle range I go to o good third to 25% of the dudes shooting will be shooting it.

Hell I owned a Colt Targetmatch and loved it.

It was the Non assault rifle version of the AR-15 IE it had no flash hider or bayonet lug.
