I spawned upon the center Island on NDIsles with my panzer. "Unnamed" has been camping there, but no one has warned me. I am in the pintle position when a round zings past. Before I can fire he knocks out my turret. So, I ditch, get another tank. Again he knocks out my turret. Ditch. The third time is the trick and he explodes with the first round into the SIDE of his panzer.

Immediately I get a private comm (snapshot available), "U plowing cheater."

Now, I can understand he's upset. Dying does that and even my own countrymen have cursed aloud and on vox. But, really, he's not smart enough to hide properly, he was only 600 yards from the spawn point, and he was parked sideways (easier to kill him). The game is setup to allow you to ditch in friendly territory without awarding a kill. That's not my fault, and since all time in a sortie counts in the glorified hunt for best kills/time, why should I stay in the tank and let him finish the job?

Gamey? Probably. Cheating? I don't think so.

Thats normal. That guy wasnt Whels I suppose?

I remember a few months ago when GTR killed me in a spawn point about 50 times. Yes..that was dweebery from me but I was pissed of because I couldn't see where she was and I kept on spawning there. Finally she was out of ammo and killed her. At least she got great K/D in gv's.

LOL Voss, I saw him whining last night about you and calling you a cheater. The way he was talking I thought you were in a plane, but I wasn't paying 100% attention to him. I probably missed a comment about it being against a GV. This makes sense and and far as I'm concerned, is legal or you wouldn't be able to do it. Tough break for the whiner.

Voss, its actually the spawn points on furball island that are busted. When you extension spawn, then ditch, it should be recorded as a kill if you've been hit (with him sitting that close to you, as in aircraft above you when you ditch). What the guy should be pissed about is the spawn bug, not you exploiting it.

I like to camp out on Spawn Points...Its just like vulching an airfield.

Though I've never called anybody a cheater when I've been killed doing it.

Then I think it's not just furball island. I believe I've done this on other maps too. I've always thought if you were causing the base to flash you could not ditch sucessfully. Otherwise, no problem.

Actually, I believe its that magical distance that you are from your field, and how close you are to theres...in other words, if you got pinged by an aircraft, and ditched below him, he'd get the kill if he was within D3.0 of you and you were in his territory. In that furball island, none of the spawns are over 1/2 way to the enemy VH, therefore, you get a ditch, however, the enemy technically should have gotton a kill since he was close to you, within D3.0. Its funny how it works, and most people take advantage of exiting the tank before letting the enemy get the kill. Who in their right mind is gonna sit waiting for death (as your original post said)
