Troops fighting Troops?
« on: June 05, 2000, 02:24:00 PM »
I have a question concerning the role troops CAN play, not should.

Enemy B26 deacks your base and lvls your FH and VH. There is a C47 on final approach....

Can i hope into a friendly C47 and spit out my troops to counteract the enemies paratrooping troops?  I've never tried it, was just wondering if it was a possible defensive tactic.

See WW2 Online review..I think thats what you're looking for, I don't believe  that HTC will program to compete with them, I think AH will be the premiere "Online Flight Sim" with vehicles thrown in for a sideshow, and WW2 Online will envelope a much larger player base from a 8 year old Doom player to an 80 year old retired general.  I truly believe that they will not compete HTH with each other, both will offer something the other doesn't have.

This tactic worked in the beta era .. I don't know about now.  The idea was that if you could get some of your troops in the map room before all of the enemy's, then the troop "counter" reset and they would have to bring more.  I don't know if it is still possible in the current release.

I think it would be funny for HT to setup troops to fire a 7.65 round at any enemy target within 300 yds. They could fire at 30 rds per minute and work like mini ack guns   Wouldn't it be hilarious? Not like 7.65 would do much but it would sure make fighters respect ground fire in a hurry!

Not to mention.. I was reading recently, and hadn't realized 'til then, that the C-47 had gun "ports" at the windows.  Me thinks it would be fun for a '47 pilot to be able to jump back to a gunnery position and take potshots with a rifle at attacking enemy a/c.  I mentioned it to HT a while back, and he said it was highly doubtful it would ever be included... but it was a fun thought, along with being able to fire after you have bailed out.
