I like this one. Good job in the making process. Looks very good compared to what have been proposed so far.

(painting is not everything, the rivets/line panel/weathering is what makes a plane looks good)
Dat jugs bro.

Terror flieger since 1941.

The lines are all the same, the colors are just tweaked.

If you compare this to the current SBD, the panels and rivets are all the same, just different colors.  It was fairly simple to do with The Gimp.  (If anyone cares yelll and I'll explain how to do it)

Its a little known fact that the SBD was used by the army air corps and was named the A-24. Though when I first saw this thread, I thought it was an EA aircraft of some sort. Many folks dont realize that the Army used SBDs and that they were called A-24s. I've also seen it in a white with grey pattern also known as its snow camo scheme, historically at least.

open the texture in the gimp,
Flip it vertically
Convert the image to grayscale, then back to RGB.
Create a new layer, Fill it with the approximate color you want to use, it should be on top of the original texture.
Change the layer mode to "Overlay"
You can then adjust the brightness of the  now grayscale texture, and the colors on the new layer to get the look you want, without removing any of the detail.

This works for any of the dark colored planes.  Im no expert with the gimp, or graphics in general, but this works decently.

For help using the gimp in general, search google for "Grokking the Gimp".

Wouldn't it be great if AH could include the wound sound when a pilot wound was registered ?
