I'll add:
Attaching a baseball card with a wooden clothes pin to the fork of my bike.
The baseball cards came with stale bubble gum.
Bazooka bubble gum with the barely readable comic.
Cracker Jacks actually came with a 'fun' surprise inside.
Melting Crayolas on the hot water pipe of our apartment complex.
At 4-6 yrs old, donning a cape  (bath towel- attached by mom with a safety pin.) and wearing my swimming trunks to go outside to play a 'super hero'

Dont forget about the swim trunks that always pull off when you dive into the pool head first. Or all those times you traded toys with other kids and got the better half of the deal cause they were dumb. Or the first moment you realized that the girl sitting in front of you in class who keeps harrassing and hitting you is actually sexually attracted to you. Oh yes and the first time I used an XM-177 to snipe a stranger was quite rememberfull as well. A key moment in anyones life. Pulls out revolver points it at own head <--LOADEDGUN. No not tomorrow NO!

When no "respectable" girl would wear a white bathing suit.

When you walked to the Saturday matinee to save the dime round trip bus fare for JuJube's or Flicks, and got to see two movies, newsreel, serial adventure and a cartoon.

Taking half your class to the drive-in, on dads ton and a half flatbed, to get the most value out of dollar a carload night.

Your best bud and you taking your girl's to the drive-in on motorcycles and arguing that you get in for a dollar cause you only got 4 wheels and 4 seats just like a car.

Fishin N swimin were kinda the same thing.

The Henery J and flatheads ruled the dragstrips.

The Green Monster!

Awww hell, that was the 50's I only got one civie year in the 60's.

Not likely we will see those days again.

goin down to the bayou to catch crawdads

goin down to the same bayou to catch alligater snapper turtles

watching the GoodYear blimp hover over houston, then having dad finally take you to watch it take off one day.

Viewmaster :D

1st scrimage game in football and baseball

1st hit during a game

1st interception during a football game

bouncing a tennis ball off the wall pretending that you're pitching, playing all infield and outfield positions in the world series :D

The time I learned that you have to pull the handle bars up when jumping off a 4' ramp  :eek:  that one hurt.


ahhhh the 70's :D
