Too bad we have nothing resembling the US Midway planeset to oppose it.

But we are getting there - slow but sure.

I realize that the PLANES we want for historical Scenarios may not be on the top of most other peoples list - or evens HT's list !

What we get when we get them works for me.

THANKS !

1 x 800kg bomb (AP or HE)
2 x 250kg bombs
6 x 60kg bombs (up to 7 x 60kg bombs)
1 x 800kg torpedo (Type 91 Mod 1 or Mod 2 or Mod 3)

Defensive Armament:
1 x 7.7mm flexible gun at dorsal turret (582 rounds)

B5N2's Mission role would be:
Level-bombing
Torpedo attack
Soft dive-bombing

I thought the b5n2 had two forward 7.7s as well...

(B5N2) Twin 7.7 mm machine guns, in rear cockpit

Two x 7.7 mm machine guns, fixed, above forward fuselage

Fuselage centreline rack for one 800 kg (18-inch) torpedo or 3 x 250 kg bombs.

But I find many references that say only 1 rear firing gun...

It might not get used much use in the MA but in ToDs, CAP, Scenarios, CT, etc. it will see lots of action.

The F4U-4 is much more of a hanger queen than the Kate will be.

No forward guns!
What kind of third rate firm designs a plane with no forward guns!
How are you supposed to kill spits in this crate?

Can I sell the planes in my hanger I dont use on Ebay?

Montazuma and Daddog,

How's that Val doing??

As far as the F4U-4 goes. Check with the perk system.

What can the Kate do that the Grace could not in scenarios?? It is typical to use substitute planes in scenarios. At least that way you might see one in the MA for something other than a novelty act.

It is hard to tell if the Val has more sorties than the F4U-4 in the MA.  Of course, this is due to the high perk cost of the F4U-4.

But there is no contest between the two as to which has been used more in events so far.

I took the liberty of quoting ,Oboe, from the CT forum discusing this issue:

You can't argue with the fact that the Japanese are being given apparently the earliest possible model of attack planes while the U.S. forces are being given much later-war models. WTH? What conclusions are we supposed to draw from that?

I know you Allied flyers don't pick which models are introduced, and I'm sure you're happy with what you get. But believe me, it would be in your best long term interest to also encourage HTC to give the Japanese flyers better equipment and choices in the game, because frankly its pretty discouraging. You guys could end up with no dedicated opposition in the PTO.

Good grief, the LW is so far developed they're down to getting the Me163 rocket plane, and the IJAAF is STILL without its best fighter of the war.

This just in, HTC has suspended production of all planes at this point.  From now on, if the plane doesn't meet the prior approval of every denizen of this BBS, HTC will not put the time and effort into creating the plane.

From the above, and given the few whines about the Kate, it has been scrapped for now.
