Dick Butkis was not a lineman he was the beginning of what is now typical linebacker. Also one of the top 5 ever in that category in my book.
As for Defensive Linemen:
Deacon Jones (biggest hands I have ever seen on a man)
Howie Long (tenacious and smaller than average for that position but quick and powerful)
Merlin Olson (played along side Deacon Jones and is in the Hall of Fame)
Ed "Too Tall" Jones (224 games, 1032 tackles, 105 sacks, 3 Interceptions, 19 fumbles recovered also tried boxing in 1979 so he missed a season for that attempt.)
Jack Youngblood (14 seasons and 202 games also had 150 sacks)
