will AH run on the lindowsOS? what about other windows programs, will they run on lindowsOS ?

reason i ask is i saw a puter with it as the OS system, they say it is linix based

Lindows is a windows shell that runs on top of Linux.  The current version is good enough to run Office and some games, so it's possible it can run AH too, but there would likely be a performance impact.

I'd avoid Lindows like the plague-the distribution is set to run all users as root. Root users are like sys admin accounts in Windoze. This negates a major strength of Linux-being able to limit the damage users can do to the system. The cost for Lindows is rather high also...

Lycoris or Xandros would be my recommendations for a new Linux user. Lycoris is what I'm currently using at home. The hardware support was fine-everything was detected and installed automagically. Beware if you have a Winmodem, though-Linux support for them is spotty.
