hey, here's something for yah. 3 views of the bell x1. I already did a "first" attempt model. but was wondering if you could have a go at it.

btw, ole' chucky broke the sound barrier again for his last time in an F15.

i can import .3ds, .obj, and anim8or files. (i'm using anim8or)

if you have a p51 or something you wouldn't mind sharing a 3D mesh of, i'd really like to try and learn from it.

Chuck was not the first to break the sound barrier?

It was a test pilot in a F-86 who did a few days or weeks before, and it was covered up.

Now Chuck is the first to break it in level flight.

Hey, Mason. I'm sorry I missed this the first few cycles through. :)

This is looking good! I don't know about the finish, though. The X1 at the Smithsonian is an off red, or dark orange maybe. But, as far as shiney metal goes it's workable. The problem is in the environment it's rendered in. I usually use a back background, as you have, but like a wall, and the surrounding area would be an inverted sphere (hollow) with a desert and sky texture applied to the interior.

Tomorrow I will look into my model collection for you.

Are you sure 3DS is the best format for you? See if you can use the .cob format, or there may be one even more efficient.
