There's a company that makes these today (can't remember the name), and they run around $350 US. They are all metal, and the prop turns as the child pedals. They have numerous models, including a P-40 (like the one above) and a F4U, as well as several bi-planes.

A P-40??? Sabre, look again dude- the landing gear is way too big for a P-40 and it has an open cockpit. It looks more like a Pontiac GTO.

BTW: thats PC-41 behind the wheel of that kite.. I never had such fancy toys when I was a kid

I work with his daughter and when I saw this photo I knew what I must do

...

I think I still like the authentic paint job better than the newer gussied-up models..
