Can't Connect to Host
«
on:
October 29, 2002, 10:59:48 AM »
I've been trying to get into AH for a while now, but whenver I try to set up an account, the form jsut freezes for about a minute, thne says 'Unable to Connect to Host'. I can't ever get into the MA, coz it just times out looking for the host. the Alt Route doesn't help either.
Any ideas what might be wrong?
Many thanks.

My friend told me to come in here and ask you guys whats wrong with it because somehow you helped him out when something was wrong with his. Could someone please tell me whats wrong with it?

To help with your problems, and most of us will try VERY hard to assist, we will need some information on your system.
What we might need to know is the following, try and give us as much as you can give.
CPU brand/model:
CPU Speed:
Total RAM:
RAM brand and type:
FSB speed:
Video Card:
Video Card Driver Version:
Video Card BIOS version:
Motherboard brand and model:
System BIOS revision:
Sound Card brand and model:
Sound card driver:
Operating System and version (the long number):
Operating System Build Number:
DirectX version (the long number):
ISP and how you connect to it:
I know it's a lot of information, but sometimes these problems require it.

He says I should have entered a game ID when I tried to play online for the first time. Either it didn't come up, or I didn't see it and must have closed it out.
How do I enter one in now???

When you first start the AH program it comes up with a display that lets you adjust your video settings, choose offline or online play, and other things. When you hit 'online' it will ask for your AH login and password, maybe he means that. I assume you have started an account and have an AH login name and password.. do you?
You do NOT have to be paying AH to get those. You sign up and I believe they e-mail you a confirmation of the AH login and password.
You will get that login screen each and every time you start up AH.

I have an account, I click on online or H2H and it asks for my sn and password. I enter it in and it says connecting to host. Then it gets to step 2 and says could not connect to host and asks if i want to take a alt route. I say yes and it does the same thing.
Some error comes up every one in a while which says "Invalid Model Number". It doesn't come up all the time, only once every other day or so.

It will usually count to 20 right? Then the Screen comes up asking you to switch to Alt Route...
"Host Timed Out" Means that you dont have a connection.
When its counting to 20 it means your connected but probebly very slow.
Make sure your not downloading anything in the backround.
Good Luck, Maybe Skuzzy could help you with an issue like that, have u tried emailing HTC? Or u can call them
