Remember the canyons?

Remember crossing the mountain ranges with the sensation of entering a distinct hostile enemy territory?

Remember trying to egress knowing that range wall was there?

I, for one, would love to see all future terrains offer the same feeling of a distinct sovereign territory with boundaries such as mountain ranges or water or both.

Don't really care how they do it, I just thought it was a fun terrain to fly and fight in.

Opinions?

They were absolutely worthless... until you got the mountain ranges. Then the terrain was worth something, but it still wasn't much.

Mindanao is much better, I dislike the featureless or barely featured terrains of the past and prefer something more along the lines of the Confirmed Kill v.91 terrain.

Sigh....

I'm not talking about the graphics...it's about the layout.

HT can take any of the old terrains and convert them to include the more detailed textures of Minwhatever.

Well I agree with you Rude.
I liked the Beta terrain with it's canyon fights, lots of GV spawn points.

That the one where the center was all snow capped?  I got shot down there was and laughed my bellybutton off seeing snowmen all over the place   :)

Yea, bring that back for a few days!

Me either. I do not believe the words "features" and "textures" mean the same thing. When I look at terrain, that little raggidy stuff we called mountains is called "features". A "featureless" terrain is pretty much flat or has very subtle transitions between them.

The textures were fine on the beta maps, the lack of canyons, except for the very few at the mountain ranges in the center are what made my dislike the map.

I liked the Beta terrain a great deal myself.  The Mindinao terrain is a nice change.  But it is not my favorite of terrains.  If I wanted to fight in the mountains I'd have joined the infantry
