I dont boycott it per se but I certainly dont play nearly as much when its loaded........

Its flat rate anyway. Need to boycott AH if yer gonna really make a statement. I spose half a dozen or so probably already have

my monitor isnt that great and the color does a number on my eyes as well.

i dont mind how big or anything, i just wish it was green.

The light brown is much brighter than the greens of the other terrains. It hurts a lot of people's eyes, particularly those who play in darker rooms, have naturally sensative eyes, or play with a relatively low refresh rate. I imagine snow-covered terrains would have the same problem.

Personally the change of scenery was one of the few things I liked about AKDESERT, but IMO people's comfort is more important than what a terrain looks like.

Perhaps AKDESERT could be rebuilt into something less painful? Darker shades of brown might work fairly well.

I've stayed away from Pizza since it's creation since the colours really disagree with my eyes, can't see a thing against it. Let alone layout,size etc.

We certainly do need more MA terrains all of them that we have now with the exception of akdesert are just too small .

Depends on what time of the day.

Even Mindanao is plenty large when there's 250 or less online (which is about half the time or more).

People who play at peak hours are playing a vastly different game than those who fly at off-peak hours.

Even with less than 100 players on Mindano is too crowded . At 4am you have about 80 players in 3-5 grid squares, which is the entire front in mindano .

5 AH grids is over 3000 square miles. Not enough for 100 people? FYI that is larger than 2 U.S. States.

5 x 5 AH squares was also the size of the average arena in the last flightsim I played, and almost nobody thought those arenas were too crowded at up to 150 players (superior arena design comes into play

The 512 x 512 maps are bigger than 48 of 50 states and is larger than the land area of one of the remaining two. It is roughly the size of the 12 smallest states COMBINED. Doesn't that seem awfully big for the numbers we have in AH?

You're entitled to your opinon and all, though I wonder how you came to that opinion.

If 20 players in a grid square isn't crowded to you then we have very different ideas of what crowded is . Having a long red bar in every grid squard on the border of your country (80 players in mindanao) is too crowded .

Still, the difference in our opinion is yet more reason to support the idea that AH should have more than a single MA.....with more than one arena they could cater to different types of gameplay

The good thing with the size of akdesert is you have the option not to furball, or not to take your bomber formation through a red curtain . The red curtain is probably some of the reason why getaway planes are so prevailent now, and why suicide jabos have replaced bombers .

I wasn't an AK when the map was made, but in defense of my fellow squadmates, I'll echo their words on this topic: Have many of you who are squeaking about it have made your own map for MA use? You all have access to the same tools, if you really dislike it so much, make a better one. Is AKDESERT perfect? No, of course it isn't. Has anyone else worked with HTC to make a 512x512 map that might be better? As far as I know, not yet.

Kappa, maybe this is something you can do during all the free time you'll have while AKDESERT is up in the rotation?

It's an excellent terrain - I love it!

I just wish it would last a bit longer as it seems every time it comes around it is reset within a day, while others like the 'uterus' lasted several days this time around.
