Why all Finns cheer for the Dark Side...

...because Count Dooku fought in defense of Finland against the U.S.S.R.! :)

http://us.imdb.com/Bio?Lee,+Christopher

"As a member of volunteer troops from Britain, Lee fought in the Winter War in 1939-40 in Finland."

Also damn impressive:

"Did all his own stunt work and lightsabre fighting in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, which is very impressive, considering he was eighty years old at the time of the shooting."

France and Great Britain were planning to send up to 100,000 troops to help Finland during Winter War, but that plan was never followed through due to the political situation in Europe.

The troops never reached Finland, but Finland did receive much needed material aid from the western european countries. For example, Finland bought Hurricanes, Gloster Gauntlets and Gladiators from England.

Sweden sent units to Finland, for example F19, a volunteer air force unit that fought in Lappland with great success.  Some volunteers from other countries took part in the fighting as well, but they were more or less single "adventurers". Who knows, maybe Christopher Lee was one of these?

Regardless of all this, I still think the Empire is only misunderstood. After all, they just bring balance to the rebel-infested galaxy. ;)

Camouflage,

Actually lots of the Gladiators were donated by swedes, to be used by swedish squadron :>

And there were brit volunteers serving in finnish army, even though the british themselves didn't send the troops.

As kevin smith once postualted:

      RANDAL
A construction job of that magnitude would require a helluva lot more
manpower than the Imperial army had
to offer. I'll bet there were ndependent contractors working on that thing: plumbers, aluminum siders, roofers.

      DANTE
Not just Imperials, is what you're getting at.

      RANDAL
Exactly. In order to get it built quickly and quietly they'd hire anybody who could do the job. Do you think the average storm trooper knows how to install a toilet main?
All they know is killing and white uniforms.

      DANTE
All right, so even if independent contractors are working on the Death Star, why are you uneasy with its destruction?

      RANDAL
All those innocent contractors hired to do a job were killed-casualties of a war they had nothing to do with.
 (notices Dante's confusion)
All right, look-you're a roofer, and some juicy government contract comes your way; you got the wife and kids and the two-story in suburbia-this is a government contract, which means all sorts of benefits. All of a sudden these left-wing militants blast you with lasers and wipe out everyone within a three-mile radius. You didn't ask for that. You have no personal politics. You're just trying to scrape out a living.
