Atlantic Monthly
November 2002
Pg. 65

The Kabul-Ki Dance

Inside the cockpit with members of the 391st Fighter Squadron, veterans of the recent air war in Afghanistan
by Mark Bowden.

You can purchase this lengthy article on line at the Atlantic Monthly site. Or perhaps you can go down to the library and read it.

If your an "American admirer" you'll enjoy this. How it was done with pretty good detail; tales told by the participants; interesting stuff about the players (Why is the female F-15E wizzo called "Baldy"?) Much hubris and bravado.

If you're an "American detractor" you'll enjoy criticizing those "arrogant Americans" in posts after you read it. It'll reinforce your image of those arrogant bastiges. Enjoy.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!
