Perhaps they think HTC wont like them if they say anything good about IL2.. :D

The patches work. I got mine from 3Dgamers.com and you just DL them and they self install...

It’s a humiliation filter, you can’t post Fighter Ace and flight model in conjunction with a image. Thanks Skuzzy, I would have violated every BBS rule.

IL-2 has some flaws that make me wonder how they could do so much right, and miss a few points, but overall it nearly has killed my AH play.

Il-2's flaws are absolute game killers for me.

Do you ever fly the 109 creamo.....if so have you ever checked your FPS while firing the cowl 'solar flare' generators?

I get 40-45 FPS normally, but when I fire it becomes a slide-show from the absurd  muzzle blast the guns produce.

If the terrain in use, has a large number of objects in it reasonably fast machines stumble trying to cope with the overhead.

Actually, I'm surprised your AMD 1600 and GF3 has enough balls to handle it, I'll bet you have minimum 512mb, possibly 1GB DDR.....am I correct?

IIRC during the beta Oleg stated that IL-2 code is optimized for Intel processors since 3D-Now instructions were too complex.....anyone with an AMD gets the toejamty end of the stick right out of the box.

Add in the clunky POS view system and it's no wonder the game is relegated to sitting on peoples shelves rather than their hard drive.

AMD TB 1.4GHz@1.53GHz, 768DDR, OC'd GF4Ti4200 and SB Audigy.
Right now I'm using 1280*960 32bit with all details maxed up and tested it at 1600*1200 32bit with same detail-level.

No problems here. Game runs smoothly even when firing those cowl-guns.
Oh using 2x Anti-Aliasing too.

I agree that view-system is aged, they should copy one from AH. I also like how AH uses zoom, one key to switch from normal to zoomed view which also has adjustable level of zoom.
Anyway these are no "show stoppers" for me and I'm eager to see what Forgotten Battles brings to that game.

AMD 1500XP, 512 PC2100DDR, GFTi200. Runs great at 1280x1024. It even ran great with a lowly GF1. I don't know what the deal is for you. Not saying there aren't problems, just saying I don't understand.

Did I upset you by dissing your hoopty game?

Can one of you adults check a file for me, I'm beginning to suspect I might have a bad CD, last time I installed I recieved a CRC error with 3do.sfs.

Mine is 256mb in size.

Il-2 is the next generation. AH shows his age. It was the same with AW it will be the same with AH. Not yet but maybe in the near future. THere is still time to react.

I wouldn't worry too much about AH.
I'm sure there are things in the works (graphically) that will make things ok for the eye-candy pom=pom crew.

Dale and crew have done a fine job and I have no reason to believe otherwise for the future.

Duron 800, GF2 MX 400, 640 MB RAM.

No stutter while firing, no stutter offline.

Online is another thing, I must admit.
