not sure if you pretend to be stupid or really are? (shrugs) My original post said "I sense dozens of adolescents doing "copy cat" routines "  I guess I should have clarified for you, that they would not be "indentical"  but "similiar" (shrugs) ;)

Sikboy,

Obviously it fits into the broad spectrum of "love muffinish" stunts that Ripsnort decides upon. This list may someday include:

Any skateboard crash
Mountain biking
BBQ accidents
Jumping from high stuff into water
Dog wrestling
Rough sex
Anything to do with a motorized vehicle with less than 4 wheels

Agreed, kids will find a way to hurt themselves (Hell, I even tried the bedsheet parachute after watching War movies in the 60's ;) )

Just finding one would be a start. So far, all you have is a guy who lit his legs on fire in 2001 and a guy who lit his shirt on fire in 2002. Neither seems to have been "duplicating" the stunt  ascribed by the reports. Reminds me of the woman who claimed that her kid set the house on fire because he watched too much "Bevis and Butthead" back in the mid 90s.

Well, we'll have to take their word for it Sik, after all, its the boys who admit they were trying to do a stunt similiar. ;)  Of course, the authorities could deny it, and say "Nahh, your just making that up, admit you've never watched the program!"

The Wrestler?  Forget him? ;) Oh, someone just pointed me to another search for the kid in the stolen golf cart in Colorado...did Knox do a stunt involving a golf cart? Anyone know?  Looking for the Colorado story now...

Another recent life-imitates-TV incident involved the Word
Wrestling Federation. A 14-year-old boy in Florida was
convicted of murder for imitating pro wrestling moves on a
6-year-old girl, killing her.

And this has what to do with love muffin?

Kids (and adults too) will say a lot of things to deffer blame and punishment.

The only commanality with love muffin was the fire. Speaking of which, it's getting colder out these days, I can't wait to imitate love muffin, and use my fireplace.

Yes, forget the Wrestler, since I was talking about love muffin.

Actually, I'm going to over rule the use of anything not inspired by love muffin the movie, since that's what were talking about. Oh wait, that reduces your army of wannabes to the one guy in the first story WTG!

Ah, well, I don't watch it so I thought maybe there was a wrestler or big person in the show that does mean things to Knox...sorry, I guess I misread that one.

He fights BUTTERBEAN.

But that kid killing the girl incident happened even before the love muffin show existed.

Kids dont get hurt or killed because of the show. Kids get hurt and killed because they were stupid

The reference to "love muffin" by the media, because the victim said that was his inspiration, even though the relevance was that the guy set himself on fire because there was a stunt where the actor set himself on fire.  Key difference: the actor was wearing a fireproof suit.

So, really, the topic isn't whether or not the show really DID inspire the accident, but that the media started shouting that it did and therefore skewed public perception that there was a connection.

And that's all you need to file a lawsuit for damages. :D
