Murphy Laws are real. After reopening my account some months ago, today I decided to take a 262 to scare some bishops, as I finally had enough perkies to do it.
After taking off, and a rather boring cruise to the action zone, dodging high cons and searching my opportunitty, I spot a low, lonely La7. I fly away, letting he think that I didn't spotted him. After his icon disappeared, I changed course and went after him. Thinking that danger was over, he started a steady climb, forgotting to check his six...
As distance got closer, my hearth started pumping like mad. There he was, a big, inmobile, unsuspecting target. Finally, as distance reduced to 800 or 600 yards (I was flying at 600mph or more!) I shot 5 or 6 30mm rounds... and the La7 disappeared into a big ball of fire! Wohooo!!! I laughed histerically, all the previous tension now relieved!
Climbing back to search for more victims, I spotted a low formation of 3 B-17s. Again I dive on them, seems that the pilot is looking at another direction, as he doesn't shoot back... I start shooting at d1.0... not a single hit!
Crappy flying? Rubber bullets? Whatever had happened, the next pass will not be so easy: now he knows I'm here!
Frustrated, I climb back to attacking position. As I'm flying very fast, it's not too long before I'm ready for the second pass. So I dive... and he starts shooting!!! But I'm going too fast for him to aim, so I open fire, landing some hits on the tail of the lead B-17. The Flying Fortress is doomed! As I climb for a third pass, I see the old plane falling to the ground, pouring black smoke and flames.
Then, as I reach a safe altitude and start to search for the other two B-17s...
...OMG, the damn computer freezes!!!
First time AH freezes on my computer in MONTHS, and it happens while I'm flying a friggin 200 perks plane!!! First time I fly a 262 since I reoppened my account, first time AH freezes in that same period! ARGH!!!
Thanks for reading, now I feel better
(Yes, my english SUCKS, I'm sure that Shakespeare is banging his head against his tomb walls as I'm writing this... )
