Ive looked and looked and asked, but no one seems to have a good tutorial on divebombing. Is there any links out there on strategies?

Have you tried doing divebombing offline or either in the Training Arena?

There is a special gunsight that activates itself when you activate the bombs on a plane.  Where ever the green X is thats where the eggs will land, it makes for good practice.

But if you dont know how, go to the Training Arena and go to Hanger get a fighter plane and put bombs on the plane.  When you get on the runway hit   BackSpace  and the Green arrow should appear, then climb a few altitudes, you should probebly climb at least 7-9k before diving down on a target.

GL!

thanks for the post..

yes i have tried for about a week online/offfline to bomb things

usually aiming dead on in a drop they fall short of my planned target.

i have not seen this special gunsight. What do you mean activate bombs? you can select bombs with backspace or open your bomb door (even if you dont have one hehe) but there's no special thing. i do know that one of the japanese planes has a second bomb sight, but that didnt seem to work for me either.

It's a sight enabled in the training arena, so that you can get an idea of where the bombs will land.  You will see a green plus where the bomb will hit.

There is a quick tutorial on it here
http://www.netaces.org/ahplanes/usa/mathmanf6f/mathman.html
but for the most part, divebombing is alll about practice and getting a "feel" for where the bomb will land.

You can turn on the constantly computing impact point, either offline, in H2H (if you are the host), or I think it works in the Training Arena (maybe not).

To do so, open up the clipboard and press setup, then arena settings, look for the parameter "FlightModeFlags".  Click on that, select the change button, and look for "dive bomb sight".  Turn that on and press ok to exit the setup.  You see, whenever you have a bomb selected that there is a little + sign on the ground which tells you where the bomb would hit if you dropped it that instant.  This'll help you get a feel for aim points when you are diving.

You can also use this same sight to practice calibration in the bombsite, but that's covered in a number of threads in the help, so just search for one.

Don't get too reliant on the dive-bomb sight though, it doesn't work in the MA.

try not to aim dead on when you drop unless your directly above it. generrally (i pigurted this out from lots of practice) aim so that the fuithes edge is parrelel with the very bottom of the gunsight (the black line where it starts) then just mnake minor adjustments from there you get it pretty quick.
