Heard that all the LW aircraft in IL2 are undermodeled also.

Is it true?

Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Oh, the injustice of it all!

No matter where they go, their FW doesn't have it's true ultra performance. It's just not fair.

It's true Toad.  The vast conspiracy has ensnared yet another simulation.

Maybe someday Kurt Tank will make a WW2 flight sim... isn't he still hiding in Argentina or somewhere?

Hey Toad, don't mess with master Tank! Let him rest in  peace!!!

---

In general the 109s handle sweet in IL2 and are competetive at any period of the war. LW even has the advantage early. The G6 (non AS model) OTH is vastly underpowered and a death trap in online flying - it has a fabelous 6 view but that only helps to see whos killing you.

One problem is the lack of correct high altitude FM/atmospheric modeling - 109s cannot play out their advantage --- hopefully that will change in FB.

The 190s are another story. Unlike in AH the 190 does not stand a chance in a 1vs1 against a russian fighter from the same period. They still have fierce fire power and good flight characteristics but loose tremendous E in the slightest of turn. Controls in IL2 are a bit twitchy and not as crisp as in AH (reality check?) what makes it hard to use its rolerate to the full potential. Again the A4 seems underpowered whereas the A5 handles nicely - you won't ever get shot in a 190 if you play it out right. With caution you can escape any russian planes but you will rarely win a "classic AH dogfight".

With FB the 190 will (re)gain much potential with the introduction of realistic engine/prop manegement. So IL2 will be the first sim to unleash the power of the Kommandogerät in the 190 which will make it a much more effecient fighter!

Funked, IL2 (out of the box) might have some flaws in the engine/prop modelling - but at least it has one! :)

---

Even if you all mock about conspiracy this is worth a thought! Oleg had a gigantic hit in the, previous internationally unknown, russian (eastern) market. I've never seen so many russians in a (online) sim as in IL2. And they've been attracted by the planes and maybe theater! So the russian crates cannot be on the loosing side - can they? Put a "decent" pony or hog into a sim and the ami will swarm in. Spitfire for the brits - Yaks and Lavochkins for the ruskies. Patriotism pushes through everytime (hehe - ok, I am generalising a bit ;) ).  To bad we'll never see a german WW2 sim -

Sweet! Ki84 was my favourite in AW3, the Focke Wulf of the pacific... :) But I wonder how the Ki fits into the cold Leningrad winter. ;)

Really, really looking forward to FB! If I only had more time at my hands!
